iClear Feature Roundup

9/15/2021

Although it's been a challenging year in many ways, we remain focused on improvement. We continue to work diligently in making your day easier via new enhancements and upgrades. Through communication with our clients, user surveys, and some of the brightest technological minds in the business, we identify areas of improvement and act on them. We've highlighted some recently released features below.
HIGHLIGHTS FOR SERVICERS

New Audit Triggers allows users to audit invoices at two new stages "On Pending Rejection" and "On Pending Approval" (where enabled). This new function is mostly geared toward auditing new employee decisions. Servicers can create an audit to monitor when an internal user Rejects or Adjusts (Pending Rejection/Pending Approval) and pull that invoice for a manager/auditor review prior to moving the invoice on to its pending status.  Note: We also replaced Audit Approve/Reject with "Take Action"; no change to function.   Please reach out to your iClear Support Representative for more information.
HIGHLIGHTS FOR VENDORS
New Report: "Vendor Daily Posting Report"
allows Vendors to pull invoice line item data once the invoice has posted ('Presented for Payment or "Paid").
HIGHLIGHTS FOR SERVICERS & VENDORS

iClear Chrome (compatible) a quick reminder that iClear can be used with Chrome. Internet Explorer (9+higher) is still available - although Microsoft is discontinuing support. Further testing is being conducted on Edge.

New Invoice Header modified the Invoice Header and added an "Action" item. This will help users 'see' additional information as it relates to the Invoice Status. For example, if the Invoice Status is Pending Approval, the Action might say "Pending Vendor Appeal".

Find Loan (permission required)  allows users to search for loans (like Find Invoice) by various search criteria (like milestone and loan type). Once the permission is enabled, Find Loan can be found in the Administration drop-down menu.
iClearDefault offers smart automations that simplifies the management and processing of vendor invoices for mortgage servicers. iClearDefault reduces the overall costs associated with manually processing invoices utilizing advanced business rules to move an invoice seamlessly through workflow queues and automated decisioning, all customized by you. See iClearDefault in action today, schedule a demo and learn how you can improve the management of your invoices.

State-by-State Guide to RON

7/1/2021

Remote Online Notarization (RON) is currently allowed in every state except California (for now). Driven by the pandemic, lawmakers across the nation are acutely aware of the need to provide purchasers and sellers more flexibility in the closing process, however, each one is taking a different approach to the solution. It is important to note an agent can only perform a RON while physically located in the state where they hold a commission. Agents may not perform a RON while located out of the state where they have been commissioned. For your reference, we've provided a brief description of each state's RON bill/law/order.

Technical Bulletin: Microsoft Server Announcement

3/22/2021

CaseAware Technical Bulletin
PHP? End of lifecycles? LINUX? What does it all mean? Should I care?
In July 2020, Microsoft announced they will discontinue Windows builds of PHP. PHP is a programming language that is used by almost 80% of all websites, including a few you might recognize like Facebook, Yahoo, Zoom, WordPress and CaseAware.

Microsoft hasn't shared a motive behind their announcement, however, a majority of PHP programs are run on LINUX servers so one could reason it is because it is no longer worth their efforts to continue to support PHP programming. In an abundance of caution, we want to inform you there may be an impact on you if you are running CaseAware on a Windows server.

If you are running a server that is Windows then Microsoft will no longer support or provide security patching for PHP at the end of 7.4 lifecycle, scheduled for November 6, 2022. As CaseAware moves to PHP version 8.0 and beyond, your version of CaseAware cannot be supported with continuous upgrades on a Windows server beyond November 2022.

Disregard if you fall into one of these categories:

Our customer support team has been busy over the last several months with rolling out product enhancements. Here's the full list of enhancements, updates and new features. Contact us with any questions.
SERVICER
  • New Mass Approve/Reject Queue that allows users to decision invoices in bulk.  Users (with permission) can access a new Mass Approve/Reject Queue and select multiple invoices for Approval or Rejection. If a large amount is selected, iClear will stage them to Queued for Approval or Queued for Rejection (respectively) and run a job continuously to update the status of the invoices selected.
  • New Invoice Line Item Cap Summary functionality allows users to view line item caps (if defined) and view all previously billed line items.  Click on the “Line Item Summary” button to open the pop-up box that will summarize all line items billed on an invoice, their cap and their previous activity (if any). Note: this button is only viewable by Servicer.
  • Appealed Invoices Queue Escalation Flag has been added to assist users in managing the volume invoices in this queue. If you need to ‘escalate’ an appealed invoice, click the flag and a red exclamation point will appear in the line item.  If a user/group is responsible for escalated appealed invoices the red exclamation point will be a visual prompt to review those invoices.  A filter has also been added.
  • New Invoice Type:  “Title” allows Servicers to have a broadly named invoice that covers billing of general Title Services and Products. See your a360inc representative for more information.
  • Updated "Recovery" Invoice Type refreshed line items to include billing pertaining to recovery services for personal property (Automobile, Boat, etc).  See your a360inc representative for more information.
  • New Audit Trigger “On Rejected” allows Servicers to audit Rejected Invoices
  • New Queue Exposure allows Servicers to view queue assignment in the header level.

CSC saves you direct costs, time, and risk with eRecording services covering 80% of the US population
Integration shouldn't be limited to transmitting your work-product-data to your client's platforms. CaseAware Integrate (CAI) goes beyond status reporting and traditional data integrations, enabling your firm to optimize business processes, reduce costs, and expedite timelines. CAI offers over 60 vendor integrations—today we're showcasing an eRecording integration that delivers immediate value in your business process.

How has eRecording become invaluable in light of the pandemic?
"eRecording has become even more valuable during the COVID-19 pandemic for both document submitters and county recording offices," says Jim DeGaetano, Director of Real Estate Services at CSC. "eRecording has enabled submitters to continue to record documents in counties that are physically closed due to COVID but are still recording documents submitted electronically. eRecording is a contingency solution for county recording offices as it enables their employees to work from home. While those counties can't record mail-in or walk-in paper documents, their employees can record electronically submitted documents from home."

Filing real estate documents taking you days or weeks?
Utilize our integration with CSC today and transmit documents to the county in seconds and record in hours rather than days. CSC provides electronic recording services to deliver secure and efficient coast-to-coast coverage for documents recorded at the county level. CSC's web-based solution enables you to transmit real estate documents to county recording offices in 47 states and DC; covering 80% of the US population. Use the integrated service with CSC today to save in direct costs, time, and risk.
